Nohemi Garcia del Pino, Ph.D. (Coordinator, Mexico & Latin America)

Nohemi Garcia del Pino, Ph.D. (Mimi) coordinates Gendap’s activities in Mexico and Latin America. The explosion of femicide, or el feminicidio, in this part of the world has made intervention on behalf of women absolutely critical. Mimi serves as our liaison to university and government officers as we take our art exhibit to Mexico to spotlight the problem and amplify the work of activists and organizations already addressing it.

Nohemi completed a Doctoral Degree in Education from the Center for Higher Studies in Legal Science and Criminology (CESCIJUC) in Puebla, Mexico. She also has three Master’s Degrees in Social Education, Cultural Anthropology, and Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Nohemi has more than 25 years of experience working with children and adolescents in the Visual Arts in school, non-school, and therapeutic contexts. She also has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in the textile arts.

Today, Nohemi is a Professor of Visual Arts supervising research and theses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level in several universities in Puebla, Mexico.
