Sherry Scott, M.D. (Vice-President)

Sherry Scott is a physician and self-published author who resides in Paris, Texas. Trained and certified in Pediatrics, she currently practices part-time general medicine at the Lamar County Health Department. She previously practiced pediatric palliative care medicine within the pediatric oncology/hematology department at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Scott is involved in various volunteer community organizations, including the Paris Community Theatre and Paris Poets Society, which she founded. Scott enjoys writing poetry as well as prose. Her first book, The Year My Mother Died, AuthorHouse, was published in 2011, and she has completed a second manuscript for publication. Scott resides with her husband, Dr. Cliff Scott, a pediatrician, and Aubry, the youngest of her four children.

Scott was drawn to the Gendercide Awareness Project organization after attending their first exhibit in Dallas entitled: 100+ Million Missing. Crediting her Austin College liberal arts education for broadening her world vision, she is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others. A tenacious group of women working to end gendercide through education and activism, undeterred by current challenges, is what Scott finds so rewarding and humbling to take part.
