June Chow (VP, Outreach)

June Chow is an entrepreneur who initially joined Gendap to work with local knitting groups to acquire baby booties for the exhibit. She is owner and creator of two Hello Dumpling restaurats in Dallas, Texas.  Prior to that she worked in designing, manufacturing and importing her own lines of women’s clothing and children’s shoes.  In these businesses her command of logistics was the backbone of success in managing and growing her companies. June’s business acumen has helped to manage and streamline Gendap operations efficiently and responsibly. Her communication skills were central to engaging the many supporters of Gendap’s mission; from civic groups to middle school students.

As a graduate of Wellesley College, June has a deep sense of commitment to the rights and well being of women worldwide. She aspires to live up to Wellesley’s motto:

Non-Ministrari sed Ministrare — Not to be ministered unto, but to minister

She is dedicated to volunteering in a variety of capacities. June fully recognizes that the roads we travel on in life are never ones on which we are alone.

As a mother of two, she is acutely sensitive toward raising her son and daughter to be good citizens. As the mother of a girl, June is especially vigilant about preparing her daughter for the vast wealth of opportunities afforded her as well as for life’s surmountable impediments.
